One fine day you’ll find me slapping the “bid” button on eBay, on my way to buying a Norton Commando. I’ve always been partial to the 1968 Commando, the one with the nice big drum brake up the front, but I could easily talk myself into buying something just like this.
Classic Farm Motorcycles is a brilliant little Italian garage with a habit of turning out some of the best classic British iron you’ll find anywhere. The man behind the wrenches is a chap called Fabrizio Di Bella, though is nickname is the rather English sounding “McDeeb”, he builds everything from cafe racers, to off roaders and everything in between.
Dime City Cycles is a fantastic one stop shop for everything a custom motorcycle builder needs to turn a stock bike into the café racer, bobber or flat-tracker of their dreams. I’ve ordered from Dime City Cycles more than once for different projects and chatted with some of the guys who work there so it’s great to be able to feature one of their own motorcycle builds here on Silodrome.
Ugly Motorbikes is a San Diego based custom motorcycle garage with a penchant for building exceedingly clean, light, classic café racers. This Honda CB650 is their latest creation, it’s been rebuilt from scratch into one of the more true to form cafe bikes we’ve seen in recent times and personally, I like it.
They say good things come in threes, so with that in mind, here’s our third BMW motorcycle this week. Dubbed the ‘Lucky 13’ this BMW R100/7 is the latest build out of the garages of Blitz Motorcycles, a France based custom motorcycle garage with a penchant for cafe racers, scramblers and very unusual paint jobs.
Urban Motor is a relatively new garage based in Berlin, Germany. Headed up by a friendly chap by the name of Peter, Urban Motor has already produced 4 custom BMW motorcycles and 1 custom Moto Guzzi..
This bike, named the TI Boxer, was the result of an accident at 70mph on ice. The bike was utterly totalled with the only salvageable parts being the engine, wheels and forks. Using this as a base, the guys at Team Incomplete set about creating the most advanced BMW Café Racer we’ve ever seen.
Michael Mundy is the owner of Steel Bent Customs based out of Oldsmar, Florida. His garage has a track record for building bikes that are the distillation of modern café racers, I know that term is over used nowadays but it used to refer to bikes that were bought as stock, stripped back as much as possible to save weight and then modified only in ways that would increase performance. Very much like this Honda CB500.
