Legacy Classic Trucks is a Jackson Hole, Wyoming based company that restores and customises classic American trucks. This is their tweaked version of the Dodge Power Wagon, it’s a veritable beast of a 4×4 and I’m not sure there’s any terrain on the planet it couldn’t handle with relative ease.
The 2013 Triumph Tiger Explorer XC is one of the relatively few modern motorcycles that I’d buy in a heartbeat. From a design perspective the Explorer has that angular, industrial look that I think will define many motorcycles from this period and ensure the bike’s place in history as a classic off-road tourer.
I have a huge soft spot for Ural motorcycles, the classic styling and staggering toughness of the Ural bikes is legendary. The standard Ural is a sidecar motorcycle and both rear wheels are powered via a shaft drive and a 745cc boxer engine, this model is called the “Ural Solo sT” and it’s the company’s first big foray into 2-wheeled motorcycles.
This wonderful short film tells the tale of three British men who decided, in the early ’90s, to climb onto their £500 motorcycles and ride them around the world. With no preparation, forethought, research or very much money. And they did it.
This rather unique Honda Dominator NX650 represents a design direction that myself and many others wish companies like Honda would embrace for mainstream use.
The Land Rover Defender 110 is the backbone of the British, Australian and New Zealand Armies, they’ve been deployed on every continent and used in battle from the tropics, to the deserts, to the snow covered mountain tops. They’re seriously tough trucks.
The Lamborghini Cheetah was a one-off prototype developed by Lamborghini in 1977, they were hoping for a US Military contract however their prototype was destroyed by the Americans during testing.
“The Raiden Files – Portland to Dakar” is a 30 minute film featuring some of the most spirited riding you’ll ever see in the saddle of a Triumph Tiger. The film has a blend of urban riding, off road riding and extreme off road riding with a number of fairly wince inducing accidents.
The scrambler motorcycle genre just doesn’t get enough attention from custom bike builders, cafe racers, choppers and bobbers seem to be hugely popular but I’d love to see a custom shop building nothing but balls-to-the-wall scramblers just like this one.
The BMW 1200 GS is a venerable machine, they can go literally anywhere and I suspect that when they need a moon-buggy style vehicle for the first team on Mars, they’ll take a few of these.
The Camel Trophy was an event that rivalled the Paris-Dakar in its fame and perhaps surpassed it in its difficulty. The event exclusively used Land Rovers between 1987 and 1998…
The Land Rover Defender 90″ is the short wheelbase version of the more common 110″ long wheelbase Defender, they’re tough, go anywhere 4x4s and although this may sound strange, I think they’re quite beautiful.
