Dust to Glory – Rally Baja 1000

This film, Dust to Glory – Rally Baja 1000, is a fantastic look at the world famous Baja 1000 desert race. It’s an event that officially start in 1967 and was originally called the “NORRA Mexican 1000 Rally”, the first event was held on the 31st of October and the start line was set up in Tijuana, Baja California. The winning team were driving a Meyers Manx VW Beetle based buggy and they completed the course in 27 hours 38 minutes.

Love The Beast is a documentary film directed by Australian actor Eric Bana, it’s the story of his first car, a Ford Falcon XB Coupe. Bana managed to convince his parents to let him buy an XB when he was 15, he spent the next few years with his mates in the garage working on the car, turning it into the vehicle he’d wanted ever since seeing the XB coupes take a 1-2 win at Bathurst.

For those of you who didn’t know, a “Silodrome” is actually a Wall of Death, a huge silo shaped chamber in which stuntmen (and women) ride around the walls at speeds high enough to create G-forces higher than gravity. This allows them to ride at a 90 degree angle to the ground whilst generally goofing around almost never dying.
