Buying a Formula 1 car with some serious historical credentials is a dream held by many and attained by few. This 1975 Hesketh 308b Formula 1 car hit the sales lot a few hours ago and by the look of it, won’t be up for sale for very long.

In case you’re wondering, yes, that flying Formula 1 car above is the same one offered here, although I doubt they’ll be using that particular picture in their advertising material.

This Hesketh 308b is the same chassis raced by James Hunt to his first win at the 1975 Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort (also racking up a first win for Hesketh). Hunt placed the car on pole position at it’s first race at Brands Hatch but wet conditions saw him spin out of the race after just 4 laps, he saw considerable success in this chassis and as the picture above attests, he made a point of driving the wheels off it.

If you’re in the market for a pre-owned Formula 1 car, check out the listing here at Maxted-Page Ltd.
