This is the Proformance-built, supercharged Ford Godzilla 7.3 liter crate engine. Each is dyno-tested after the build is complete, to ensure it meets or exceeds the claimed 850 hp at the crank.
The Godzilla V8 is one of the most respected big block truck engines currently in production, it keeps American pushrod V8 character alive and well, but adds aluminum heads to its classic iron block, and a slew of parts go into each engine to ensure it can withstand anything the owner throws at it. This also makes it a good candidate for performance builds like the one you see here.

Doug Mascaritola seen here with one of his earlier engine builds, he’s been working in machine shops since 13, and building engines by hand for decades.
History Speedrun: Proformance Unlimited
Proformance Unlimited Inc is a custom crate engine builder based in Melbourne, Florida, founded in 2002 by Doug Mascaritola, who remains its owner, president, and lead engine builder right through to the current day. Mascaritola started out working in his family’s machine shop at the age of 13, and the trade became his career.
Proformance started out in Ocean, New Jersey, then moved to a larger facility in Freehold, and finally relocated to Melbourne in 2015. Steven Lejda serves as Vice President, and the company says it builds over 200 engines a year.
The company turns out hand-assembled, dyno-tested, turn-key V8 crate engines to order across most of the American performance canon including Chevrolet small blocks, big blocks, and LS engines, Ford Windsor, Cleveland, and 7.3 liter Godzilla builds, Chrysler and Gen III Hemi engines, plus Pontiac and Oldsmobile.
It also has a sideline building purpose-configured airboat engines for racing, hunting, and fishing use. The range now runs from mild street engines to supercharged Godzilla combinations capable of over 1,000 bhp, and each engine is assembled individually by Mascaritola.
The Ford “Godzilla” 7.3 Liter V8
Ford introduced the 7.3 liter gasoline V8, known inside the company (and now everywhere else also) as the Godzilla, in the 2020 model year F-Series Super Duty truck. It replaced the aging 6.8 liter Triton V10 in commercial vehicles and gave Ford its largest-displacement gasoline V8 since the 460, displacing 445 cubic inches (7.3 liters).

This is a custom-built Ford 7.3 liter Godzilla V8 built by Proformance Unlimited, each is assembled as a complete, supercharged performance package and advertised at more than 850 bhp.
The design of the Godzilla V8 was deliberately kept more traditional, it has a cast iron block, cam-in-block pushrod valvetrain with two valves per cylinder, and a forged steel crankshaft, paired with aluminum heads, variable cam timing, port fuel injection, and a 10.5:1 compression ratio.
In F-250 and F-350 pickups it launched with 430 bhp at 5,500 rpm and 475 lb ft of torque at 4,000 rpm, with torque raised to 485 lb ft from 2023 onwards. Detuned variants cover the rest of the range, with 350 bhp and 468 lb ft in chassis cabs and medium-duty trucks, and a 300 bhp “economy calibration” in E-Series vans. Although the words “economy” and “7.3 liter gasoline V8” are rarely seen together for good reason.
Ford Performance also sells the Godzilla V8 as a crate engine, alongside the hotter Megazilla, which makes 612 bhp and 670 lb ft naturally aspirated on pump gas. The supercharged, competition-only Megazilla 2.0 arrived in 2025 with over 1,000 bhp.
The 850 BHP Proformance Godzilla Crate Engine Shown Here
This is a custom-built Ford 7.3 liter Godzilla V8 built by Proformance Unlimited, each is assembled as a complete, supercharged performance package and advertised at more than 850 bhp.
The cast-iron six-bolt-main block is fully machined and keeps a Ford forged crankshaft, paired with H-beam connecting rods, custom forged pistons, performance bearings, file-fit rings, and an internally balanced rotating assembly.
Up top, the factory Godzilla cylinder heads have been CNC ported and fitted with stainless-steel valves, performance beehive springs, upgraded retainers and locks, chromoly pushrods, and a custom-ground hydraulic roller camshaft.
ARP (or equivalent) studs are used for the mains and cylinder heads. Forced induction comes from a 3.0 liter Whipple supercharger, with upgraded fuel rails, injectors, a drive-by-wire throttle body, and an ATI six-rib harmonic balancer.
The engine is supplied with a Holley Terminator X-Max ECU, engine and injector wiring harnesses, coil packs, plug wires, sensors, Holley oil and water pumps, an aluminum oil pan, and a Holley high-mount alternator accessory drive.

Each complete engine assembly is dyno tested before it goes out the door, making it essentially a ready-to-install 850+ bhp Godzilla package rather than an engine that still needs its induction, management, and accessory systems sourced and calibrated.
These engines are now available to buy via the official Proformance Unlimited eBay store here, and each is made to order, allowing customers to modify the spec sheet before the build begins, if they need (or want) to.

Here we see Doug with his long-time collaborator Steve, every engine that leaves their Florida workshop goes through both of their hands before it leaves the door.
