Joey Dunlop is rightly remembered as one of the all-time greatest motorcycle racers, many and consider him to the be the single greatest. The quiet, humble Northern Irishman had a natural talent for riding motorcycles very quickly on exactly the kind of tight, twisty road circuits the British Isles are famous for.
He won the Isle of Man TT a total of 26 times, usually competing in multiple engine-size classifications. In 1985, 1988, and 2000 he won exceedingly rare hat-tricks at the TT – taking outright victory in 3 classifications in the same year.
This film offers an excellent look into the life and history of Joey, including some of the best onboard racing footage you’re ever likely to see of the Isle of Man TT. If you’d like to read more about him you can click here.
