This is the PARKIT x Toyota TRD Voyager, it’s a camp chair that has integrated backpack straps for easy carrying, as well as a cooler than can keep your drinks chilled all day long.

The Voyager chair arrived in 2020 as a wildly popular Kickstarter campaign that received almost 20x the funding it had sought. The company behind it is based in California and they now offer two main product lines, and a slew of different chair designs.

History Speedrun: PARKIT Co.

PARKIT Co. was founded by Steven Wilcox and his wife, Lauren in 2020, The idea behind the company came from a couple of things, a battered 1950s lawn chair Steven bought at a garage sale in Newport Beach, and a camping trip on which a friend’s cheap chair broke. The first prototype of his new design was a 1950s-style lawn chair with a duffel bag and a golf-bag strap attached, to test the concept and see if it had potential. From those humble beginnings came a company now worth millions.

After his simple prototype passed some early testing, an engineering team in Salt Lake City developed the idea into the Voyager, and the first prototype arrived in January of 2019, and Wilcox filed a provisional patent application for the design in November of 2019.

The Voyager went on Kickstarter on May the 6th, 2020. In 35 days, 2,080 backers pledged $479,291 USD against a $25,000 USD goal. The first shipment, 3,500 chairs for Kickstarter and Indiegogo backers and holiday pre-order customers, were shipped out and arrived with backers in around 12 months.

The production version of the Voyager chair has an aerospace-grade aluminum frame, woven polyester webbing, and faux-teak armrests. It weighs 12 lbs with the cooler empty, puts the seat 16 inches off the ground and it’s rated for a gross weight of 350 lbs. The cooler holds 15 cans in its 12 ounce interior, and the cup holder mounts to the front frame joint – it can be fitted to either side to suit left or right handed people.

US Patent 11,259,639 was issued in March of 2022, it covers the chair-and-container design and help protect it from the countless copy/paste factories that would love nothing more than to make their own low-quality, cheap versions.

The second model from PARKIT is the Eclipse Recliner, and it was released in 2025. It adds a taller backrest and a push-button recline with three positions, labeled “Kick Back,” ” Relax,” and “Enjoy.”

The company ended 2024 with 75 wholesale accounts and about $4 million USD in total revenue. REI, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Scheels all stock the chairs, and custom chairs for brands including Pacifico, Corona, TRD, and Volkswagen became the company’s second-largest revenue channel. By late 2025, PARKIT said it had shipped more than 75,000 chairs.

The PARKIT x Toyota TRD Voyager

This is the PARKIT Co. and TRD (Toyota Racing Development) limited-edition version of the Voyager, it sells for $224.99, and it comes with the features PARKIT have come to love – the integrated cooler and the padded backpack straps that make carrying it easy.

Underneath the TRD styling, the chair is the classic Voyager. It has an aerospace-grade aluminum frame, stainless-steel hardware, woven polyester webbing and faux-teak armrests. It weighs 12 lbs with the cooler empty, puts the seat 16 inches off the ground and is rated for 350 lbs of load. The detachable insulated cooler holds 15 cans in the 12-ounce size, and PARKIT says it keeps ice frozen for more than eight hours.

It’s now available to buy direct from PARKIT here on their official online store, and it makes the perfect gift (or acquisition) for anyone with a Toyota four-wheeler – be it vintage or modern.
