This brilliant 7:40 minute long video shows the first lap of the 1975 Formula 1 GP at the Nürburgring, this was the year that Niki Lauda would set the blistering lap record of 6:58.6 over the 14.189 mile track.
This race was a year before Lauda’s famous crash at the circuit, a race which he had been trying to get the other drivers to boycott due to serious safety concerns. He suffered serious burns and smoke inhalation very nearly dying of his injuries. He amazed many by making his Formula 1 comeback just 6 weeks later.
