The American Felling Axe by Best Made Co. is a wood chopper for those who are slightly more serious about cutting logs than your average weekend camper. Each of these axes has a drop forged, American-made 5160 alloy steel head that is hardened to a Rockwell hardness rating of 54-56 HRC – which sounds impressive despite the fact that I don’t know what it means.
The handle is made from straight-grain, premium hickory that originates in Appalachia and a range of colors are available – each with a different name and a slightly different cut. Best Made Co. ships these axes in wooden crates inside a cardboard carton and they’re happy to ship to just about anywhere in the world.
