Combine them and you get one of the most important moments in the history of Pikes Peak and perhaps even motorsport in general – Walter Röhrl’s 600hp jaunt to the top in his Audi Sport Quattro S1 in 1987. He broke the 11 minute barrier for the first time in the history of the event, and watching the onboard footage is enough to make even the toughest of men white-knuckle their desk.
