The Noble M600 is a slightly unusual super car in that it was designed, developed and built using a minimalist approach to technological wizardry. It won’t beat the McLaren MP4-12C around the Nordschleife, and the Ferrari 458 Italia will probably pip it to the finish at Brands Hatch – so you might be wondering why it costs significantly more than either of them at $450,000 USD.
The answer to that is the economy of scale, Noble build far fewer cars than McLaren or Ferrari and their penetration into the US market is limited at best. The M600 is an alternative super car for those who want something without traction control, ABS or any other now-standard driver aid you can think of – it’s a car based around 20th century technology that can still cheerfully rub fenders with its 21st century counterparts.

In some respects, the Noble philosophy is reminiscent of the TVR philosophy – in that you’re responsible for getting yourself out of any trouble you get yourself into – failing that you’re going into the guard rail. At considerable speed and probably sideways.
Originally released in 2010 the Noble M600 has seen small but steady sales on both sides of the pond, its popularity is largely down to its 4,439cc 60-degree (Yamaha-derived) Volvo V8 engine with twin Garrett turbochargers, coupled to its well-engineered chassis and polished handling characteristics.
You’ll be hard-pressed to find a negative review of the M600 with many automotive journalists being genuinely surprised at how much they liked the car, including Jeremy Clarkson and John Barker , the former of whom is not known for being diplomatic in any outwardly discernible way.
