This collection of over 400 Gemini and Apollo Hasselblad Positives offer a remarkable and disarming look at life in space during the most important years of the American space program. The collection includes images from Gemini 4, Apollo 8 and the Apollo 9 missions – the Gemini 4 images feature earth terrain photography from magazine 8. Apollo 8 Hasselblad photographs feature earth images from deep space, some with different camera lens filters giving the images a varying colour profile.
The Apollo 9 frames include images of the crew members inside the Command Module, astronaut Rusty Schweickart’s spacewalk, orbital views of the Lunar Module and numerous earth orbital images.
The full collection is estimated to be worth $3,000 to $4,000 USD and it’ll be up for auction with Bonhams at the Space History Sale in New York on the 8th of April 2014.
