With the long awaited return of Formula 1 this weekend taking place at the iconic Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium I thought it would be fitting to feature the 1985 Belgian Formula 1 Grand Prix. It was a remarkable race in that the top 5 finishers were or would become World Drivers’ Champion at some point in their careers.
The race was a wet one and the Spa circuit had very recently been resurfaced so the skill required to drive a car on the limit on a green, wet track was supreme. I won’t spoil the outcome for you, I’ll just say that this race is well worth a watch and will be brilliant viewing either pre or post 2012 Belgian Grand Prix.
