This excellent photograph of Buzz Aldrin was taken by Neil Armstrong in 1969, aboard the Apollo 11 Lunar Module just before they landed on the surface of the moon.
They were conducting pre-landing checks and the excitement they must have been feeling is clearly visible in Aldrin’s face. The photo is signed by Buzz and is heading to the auction block on the 25th of March with Bonhams, the estimated price of $800 – $1200 puts it firmly in affordable territory – surprising for a piece of history as iconic as this.
